I am an educator, instructional designer, and independent researcher. My research interests include the philosophy of science, the philosophy of computer science, the philosophy of technology, scientific explanation, science and values, and artificial intelligence. I earned my PhD in philosophy from the University of Kentucky in 2022. My dissertation covers issues of AI ethics, Explainable AI, and the history of computer hacking. It is titled "Contextualizing Artificial Intelligence: The History, Values, and Epistemology of Technology in the Philosophy of Science." I hold a Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T) and a B.S. in sociology, both from Frostburg State University in Frostburg, Maryland.

I have experience teaching English, social studies, and  special education at the secondary level. I worked in  developmental education at the college level, teaching reading and  writing skills, mostly to first generation college students. I also taught college-level philosophy covering topics in metaphysics, epistemology, and logic.

Outside of philosophy and teaching I have a variety of  hobbies including camping and hiking, photography, playing guitar,  motorcycling, amateur radio, and computer programming.
